Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble

This easy and economical blueberry crumble is a lovely dessert when served warm with custard or vanilla ice cream.

  • Blueberry Filling
  • 1 kg frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup (60g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Crumble
  • 90g butter
  • 3/4 cup (125g) flour
  • 1 cup (155g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg, to taste
  • 2/3 cup (60g) oats

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C.
  2. Mix the blueberries with brown sugar and lemon zest in a large bowl. Place into a greased baking dish.
  3. Work the butter, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and oats into a crumble.
  4. Spread over the blueberries and bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until it bubbles. Serve warm.
