It is important not to let the mixture to sit for too long before steaming as it will get softer and won't hold shape. I try to time it so that the water is boiling already when I shape the dumplings.
A tip for a sweet dish: Prepare some fruit (plums or apricots are the best. Wrap the fruit in a dough to form balls and boil it in salted water (Put them to water when it is boiling.)Use the wooden spoon to mix it carefully so that they could´t glue to the bottm. They will go down to the bottom and when they flow up again, let them boil for about 3 mins more and take them out. Serve with melted butter, icing sugar and cinnamon or cocoa powder (ground poppy seeds, cottage cheese.... as you like and prefer). delicious and loved by everybody! - 08 Oct 2011
