Creamy chicken pasta

    As the title suggests, it is chicken in a creamy sauce mixed together with pasta.

    Serves: 5 

    • 4 chicken breast fillets
    • 500ml thickened cream
    • 500g penne pasta (or any other tube pasta)
    • 4 tablespoons vegetable stock powder
    • 1 tablespoon basil pesto
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable stock powder (extra, to taste)

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Cube chicken, then cook in frying pan until brown then sprinkle with the extra stock powder to taste. Put aside while cream is being made up.
    2. Cook pasta for 10 minutes until al dente then drain.
    3. Place cream in a saucepan and stir over gentle heat until it starts simmering, add the 4 tablespoons of stock powder and the pesto and then the cooked chicken..
    4. When pasta is ready place in saucepan with cream mixture and stir everything through.
    5. Place on plate and serve.

    Other ideas

    Sundried tomatoes can also be added into cream, just dice and add to cream at the same time as the chicken.

    Something else. I also decided to put 2 rashers of bacon in the other day to see what it tasted like, and everyone in the family liked it more than the original recipe  -  28 Jul 2010
