These chicken and capsicum kebabs are home marinated in a sweet but tangy combination of honey, soy, chilli and mixed herbs before being cooked on the barbecue.


Serves: 10 

  • 4 large chicken breasts, cubed
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons mild chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 pinch dried mixed herbs
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 red or green capsicum, diced
  • 10 skewers

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:30min marinating  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

  1. Soak skewers in cold water if you are using wooden ones.
  2. Mix the honey, soy sauce, chilli powder, garlic salt, mixed herbs, salt and pepper together in a bowl preferably a with a sealed lid.
  3. Add chicken then close lid and shake well for a good coat. Leave in fridge to marinate for 30 minutes or until ready to skewer.
  4. Take chicken out of fridge and start to skewer with the capsicum alternating 1 piece of chicken followed by 1 piece of capsicum.
  5. Place the kebabs on the BBQ until cooked then serve.
