Pork Steaks with a Honey Sauce

A simple fried pork steak is taken to a new level with an amazingly sticky and sweet sauce consisting of honey, wine and pecans.


Serves: 2 

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, diced
  • 2 pork loin steaks or chops if you prefer, tenderised
  • 100g seasoned flour
  • 1 dash wine or sherry
  • 30g pecan nuts, diced
  • 2 tablespoons honey

  1. In a large frying pan saute the onion and garlic in the butter.
  2. Coat the pork in seasoned flour and add to the frying pan. Leave it to brown on one side before moving it then turn the meat and brown on the other side; then take it out to rest.
  3. Add the wine and nuts to the frying pan then fry off the alcohol and add the honey.
  4. Pour the sticky sweet juice over the steaks and serve with mashed potatoes and greens.
