    It is such an easy thing; steak with fried onions on a baguette but still a great meal. It can be served on its own or with chips or wedges.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 1 medium onion, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon self-raising flour
    • 1 dash sunflower oil, for frying
    • 2 small baguettes, split
    • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • 1 small lettuce
    • 2 sandwich steaks, sliced

    1. Toss the onion with the flour. Shallow-fry in hot oil in batches for 45-60 seconds or until crisp then drain on paper towel.
    2. Toast the split baguettes under the grill. Then spread the mayonnaise on the baguettes and add some lettuce.
    3. Fry the steak for about 5 minutes then add to the baguettes with the crispy onions.
