    A traditional simple beef and vegetable casserole from the UK that was made when times were tuff and money scarce.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1kg casserole steak, cut into small pieces
    • 30g pearl barley
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 4 potatoes, diced
    • 1 swede, diced
    • 4 sticks celery, diced
    • 4 carrots, diced
    • 2 beef stock cubes

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:5hours  ›  Ready in:5hours15min 

    1. Put all the ingredients into the slow cooker and cover with boiling water.
    2. Stir to combine then leave to cook for approximately 5 hours.
    3. Season to taste and serve in large bowls with chunky bread.
