Baked Tandoori Chicken

A favourite from my local Indian restaurant with this recipe I can now make my own at home. Serve with rice or salad.


Serves: 1 

  • 80g natural yoghurt
  • 10g tandoori paste
  • 10g vegetable oil
  • 1kg chicken thighs or drumsticks

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour20min 

  1. Mix yoghurt with the tandoori paste and oil. Blend into a smooth paste.
  2. Cut a few diagonal stripes into the top of the chicken with a sharp knife. Rub the marinade well into the chicken especially the cuts.
  3. Put in a suitable dish then cover with plastic wrap and leave for at least 2-3 hours in the fridge.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
  5. Remove chicken from fridge then wrap individual pieces of chicken in foil and roast for an hour making sure juices run clear.
  6. After oven cooking you may grill or BBQ the chicken to get a better finish.
