Simple Beef Casserole

    A simple and wholesome slow cooked casserole featuring beef, carrot and potatoes. Quick, easy and cheap to make.

    Serves: 8 

    • 8 medium white potatoes, peeled, washed and quartered
    • 3 medium carrots, peeled, washed and cut into 5cm wide slices
    • 1 medium white onion, peeled and cut into quarters
    • 500g casserole steak, fat trimmed and cubed
    • 1400ml instant gravy

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:6hours  ›  Ready in:6hours10min 

    1. Place the potatoes and carrots into the slow cooker then add the onion and meat. Pour over the cold gravy mix.
    2. Cook on medium for 5 hours checking and stirring it every 1 to 2 hours.

    Hey guy's just signed up now to leave my review. Me and the Mrs got our first slow cooker and was looking online for something simple to start off with and we're glad we picked this, we added half a leek and a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce also, and did it for 10 hours on low overnight and it was really tasty!     Altered ingredient amounts. substitute the potatoes for swede- this will make a lower fat meal, for those counting calories. Also- you can use quorn or tofu instead of beef for a vegetarian option.  -  09 Feb 2009  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
