Double Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

White and dark chocolate chips go into creating these cupcakes. They are perfect for an over indulgence of chocolate at Easter or Valentine’s Day.


Serves: 12 

  • 2 1/2 cup (300g) plain flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup (90g) caster sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 cup (250ml) milk
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 90g dark chocolate chips
  • 90g white chocolate chips

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Extra time:40min  ›  Ready in:1hour20min 

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C and place 12 patty cups in a cupcake tray.
  2. Sieve the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together in a large bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, eggs, milk, butter and vanilla.
  4. Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture then add the chocolate chips and mix gently to a lumpy batter.
  5. Divide the mixture between the patty cups and bake at the top of the oven for 25-30 minutes until well risen and firm to the touch.
  6. Remove cupcakes from tin and cool on a wire rack.

Some people found the cakes weren't sweet enought, so if you are a sweet teeth, add some sugar. For me, it was just AWESOME =) - 10 Oct 2011
