Mince is combined with tomatoes, onion and garlic to create a simple, cheap and tasty meal that is good for families.
1 large onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon oil
450g beef mince
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon tomato paste
4 tomatoes, peeled and quartered
1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
150ml beef stock
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons caraway seeds, optional
- Fry the onion and garlic in the oil until lightly browned.
- Stir in the mince and cook until it has browned.
- Add the flour, paprika, tomato paste, tomatoes, seasonings, stock, vinegar and caraway seeds (if using).
- Bring to the boil then transfer to an ovenproof dish. Cover and cook in a warm oven at 160 degrees C for 1 hour.
