    Mince is combined with tomatoes, onion and garlic to create a simple, cheap and tasty meal that is good for families.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 large onion, sliced
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 450g beef mince
    • 1 tablespoon flour
    • 1 tablespoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • 4 tomatoes, peeled and quartered
    • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
    • 150ml beef stock
    • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
    • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds, optional

    1. Fry the onion and garlic in the oil until lightly browned.
    2. Stir in the mince and cook until it has browned.
    3. Add the flour, paprika, tomato paste, tomatoes, seasonings, stock, vinegar and caraway seeds (if using).
    4. Bring to the boil then transfer to an ovenproof dish. Cover and cook in a warm oven at 160 degrees C for 1 hour.
