Easy Mulberry Jam

This Mulberry Jam recipe will work for any berries - its especially good for blackberries as long as you can find some that haven't been sprayed.


Serves: 80 

  • 1 3/4 kg mulberries
  • 2kg caster sugar
  • 3 tablespoons powdered pectin (Jamsetta)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Place the mulberries into a large, heavy saucepan and crush them with a potato masher.
  2. Add the sugar and pectin and heat very slowly, stirring all the time until every grain of sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add the butter, increase the heat, bring to a full rolling boil and boil for exactly 4 minutes. Remove from the heat, cool for 1 minute, then place in sterilised jam jars and cover immediately.
