Pasta with Mince and Baked Beans

A pasta sauce only a family could love but it tastes great. Mince, baked nbeans, mushrooms and onion cooked with herbs and flavourings. It will be eaten!


Serves: 3 

  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 1/2 tins (425g tin) baked beans
  • 4 large mushrooms cubed
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 2 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1 clove garlic, more if you like
  • 3 cups of pasta (prefably penne )
  • pinch of salt and pepper
  • Parmesan to sprinkle on top

  1. Put the oil in a large frying pan and fry off the onions and beef mince until browned.
  2. Meanwhile, put the pasta in boiling water in a large pot and boil for 15 mins.
  3. Add the mushrooms to the mince and stir in the beans. Add the mixed herbs, stock cube and garlic (as little or as much to your taste) and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Drain off the pasta and stir into the mince so that the sauce is evenly covered over the pasta. Dish up with garlic bread slices and sprinklings of fresh parmesan.
