Caramel Sauce with Golden Syrup

    An easy caramel sauce with golden syrup and cream that goes well with ice cream, cakes, steamed puddings, pancakes, waffles.

    Serves: 6 

    • 21 tablespoon butter
    • 1/4 cup (90g) golden syrup
    • 1/2 cup (90g) brown sugar
    • 2 Tbsp hot water
    • 4 Tbsp cream

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Melt together butter, sugar and golden syrup in a heavy based pan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 3 mins. Remove from heat and blend in hot water.
    2. Cool for 5 mins then stir in cream. Best served warm (It thickens as it cools).
