Basic Banana Cake

    This is an extremely easy banana cake recipe. It is so simple that the kids can even help and it is still guaranteed to work out perfect.

    Serves: 6 

    • 4 bananas
    • 300g caster sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 225ml sunflower oil
    • 425g plain flour
    • 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 150g walnuts
    • 100g sultanas

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour15min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Mash the bananas until they are smooth; you can use a blender or potato masher.
    3. Add all other ingredients one by one stirring with each addition. There is no difference in what order you put them in except it is easier if the sultanas and walnuts don't go in until the very end.
    4. Lightly grease your cake tin and pour the cake mixture in. Bake in preheated oven for one hour.
