    Succulent and juicy sea scallops are wrapped in prosciutto then basted with melted butter. They are barbecued until lighlty brown. It's a match made in heaven.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 1 kg shelled, large sea scallops
    • 250g prosciutto, thinly sliced
    • toothpicks, soaked in water
    • 130g butter, melted

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:13min  ›  Ready in:28min 

    1. Preheat barbecue to medium-high.
    2. Wrap each scallop with a thin slice of prosciutto and secure with a toothpick.
    3. Lightly oil barbecue grate. Arrange scallops on the grate then baste with butter. Cook for 5 minutes, turn then baste with butter again. Cook for another 8 minutes or until opaque.

    Used different ingredients. Mouth-watering!! This is a truly excellent recipe. I added garlic and lemon juice to the melted butter and sprinkled on Old Bay before wrapping the scallops. I grilled them in a grill basket rather than bothering with toothpicks or skewers. We devoured these!!! - 29 Sep 2008
