Crusty Bread Rolls

    These homemade crusty bread rolls are started in the bread maker but finished in the oven. Ideal to make hamburgers on.

    Serves: 10 

    • 300g bread flour
    • 150g plain flour
    • 200ml water
    • 50ml milk
    • 30g butter
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons fast acting yeast

    Preparation:2hours  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:2hours25min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C.
    2. Put all the ingredients into the bread machine and use the "dough" setting. Once it has completed, usually an hour and a half, take out the dough and shape into 8-10 rolls.
    3. Leave them in a warm place for 30-45 minutes to rise. Place them into the oven for 20-25 minutes.

    I'm interested in trying your recipe but the only time I tried making rolls in the past (with bread machine) they were too heavy for a burger, I like them light! Can you tell me what texture yours has.  -  05 Feb 2010  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
