Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes

This mashed potato is perfect to serve with sausages and an onion gravy. If you have roasted garlic available use that as it creates a sweeter and mellower flavour.


Serves: 6 

  • 8 medium Desiree potatoes, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, crushed
  • 100g butter
  • 60ml cream or milk
  • 1 pinch salt and black pepper, to taste

  1. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to the boil and cook for about 10 minutes or until easily pierced with a fork.
  2. Drain the potatoes and add the garlic and butter. Mash until the butter is melted.
  3. Mix in the cream or milk along with the salt and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy; use an electric mixer if preferred.
