This is the Christmas cake icing recipe that I use for my cake every year. Why move away from something that works so well and tastes so good?
My first time icing a cake, I found I had to add more icing sugar as it was too runny. It was still a bit runny but I poured it onto the cake and it just levelled out all by itself I smoothed the sides and it looked pretty good. I did want to do a bit of a snow scene with the icing but this recipe was too runny. I could make a smaller batch with more icing sugar once this has dried, but I don't think i'll bother it looks good. - 17 Dec 2014
