    My mum's recipe is a great family favourite, cheap and easy to make. A good one to cook and eat with the kids help.

    Serves: 24 

    • 250g margarine
    • 1 cup (250g) sugar
    • 1 cup (155g) oats
    • 1/2 cup (60g) cocoa
    • 30g nuts, chopped
    • 2 cups (250g) self raising flour
    • chocolate for covering

    1. In a large saucepan melt together margarine and sugar.
    2. When sugar is completely dissolved remove from heat and mix in oats, cocoa and nuts.
    3. Mix in self raising flour.
    4. Turn into a 20x30cm baking tray and press down well.
    5. Bake at 180 degrees C for 15 minutes.
    6. Cool then cover with melted chocolate. Chill to set.
