Banana and Chocolate Cake

    Nothing goes better with banana than chocolate, thus this cake has it all. Simple to make and fun to eat, even the kids love it.

    Serves: 8 

    • 200g sugar
    • 250ml milk
    • 110g margarine
    • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
    • 80g chocolate
    • 2 cups (250g) self raising flour
    • 1 large ripe banana (or 2 medium)
    • 1 egg

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:55min  ›  Ready in:1hour10min 

    1. In a saucepan put the sugar, milk, margarine, syrup, cocoa powder and chocolate then bring to the boil stirring continuously. Turn down and simmer for 5 minutes. Then leave to cool for 10 minutes.
    2. Then add flour and mix well.
    3. Mash ripe banana then add to flour; mix well. Add egg and again mix well.
    4. Place mixture in a greased bread tin and bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees C for approximately 55 minutes or until cake is golden brown and ready.
