Heat oil in a frypan then cook the chorizo and bacon for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and onion then cook for a further 5 minutes.
Add the butterbeans and bay leaves then simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove 3 tablespoons of juice from the frypan and place in a blender with the bread and garlic. Blend until smooth. Pour into the frypan then add green beans, salt and pepper; cook for an additional 15 minutes.
