Microwave Chocolate Fudge

    18 minutes

This is a simple treat made easier by the use of a microwave. I keep a tin of condensed milk in the cupboard for emergencies.

    Serves: 48

    • 500g dark cooking chocolate
    • 1 (400g) tin sweetened condensed milk
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
    • 1 1/2 cups diced walnuts

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Ready in:18min

    1. Line an 20x20cm square dish with aluminum foil.
    2. Chop chocolate and place in a large microwave safe bowl with condensed milk. Microwave on high stirring once or twice until chocolate is soft; 2 to 3 minutes.
    3. Remove from oven and stir until completely smooth. Stir in vanilla and walnuts. Spread in prepared pan.
    4. Refrigerate 2 hours until firm. Cut into squares.
    5. (For peanut butter squares, drop peanut butter by spoonfuls into chocolate and cut into fudge with knife before refrigerating.)

This is great if you need a choc. fix. DON'T use foil it rip's. Use baking paper to line the tin. Also you really do need to MW this for 3 min otherwise it won't set properly. It's really rich so don't make large squares when you cut it up. And you WILL need a big stick to fend off the other family members. It's that good. LOL  -  28 Aug 2013

Perfect snack to knock chocolate cravings on the head. This a very rich fudge, so one or two small pieces are enough for dessert or to accompany a mid-afternoon coffee. I didn't have any walnuts so used slivered almonds instead, it came out fine.  -  17 Aug 2015

My mother has made this for as long as I can remember and its fabulous. The only thing to note is storing it in plastic containers will give it a strange taste after several days.  -  28 Nov 2007  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
