This is tender fall-off-the-bone roast beef with mushrooms. It's perfect as is. Use the leftovers to make a hearty sandwich.


Serves: 8 

  • 500g sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (2kg) beef rib roast
  • 1 (40g) packet onion soup mix
  • 1 (375ml) stubbie of beer
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:9hours  ›  Ready in:9hours5min 

  1. Place the mushrooms in the bottom of a slow cooker; set the roast on top the mushrooms. Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the beef and pour the beer over everything; season with black pepper.
  2. Set slow cooker to LOW; cook 9 to 10 hours until the meat is easily falls apart.
