Crepes are very easy to make for a delicious breakfast or dessert. Eat them with just a little sugar and lemon juice, or fill with fresh fruit or ice cream.

    Serves: 3

    • 125g plain flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon caster sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 250ml semi skimmed milk
    • 1 egg

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min

    1. Combine flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the centre of the flour and add the milk and egg. Beat well to combine.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium high heat. Pour the crepe batter onto the pan, using approximately 60ml (3 tablespoons) for each crepe. Tilt the pan in a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
    3. Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a flexible spatula or egg slice, flip over and cook the other side. Serve hot with your filling of choice.

My husband told me he wanted to make me crepes one morning. Then he asked me how to make them! I pulled up and printed out your recipe for him. They turned out great! Even for a guy who had never made them....thank you! - 29 Sep 2008

I found these to be a bit thick, heavy, and without much flavour. Maybe it was my technique. Thanks Claire. - 29 Sep 2008

Great but needed to be a bit sweeter; was lacking flavour! Nonetheless, was a handy recipe and easy to make! - 25 Sep 2015
