I love this mini mini prawn. It's so cute. I simply coat them with chilli seasoned flour and deep-fried, lemon wedges on the side to serve. Crispy, sweet, salty and chilli prawns, such an easy snack, or as an appetizer.Great with a pot of beer, sake or even straight up vodka. Enjoy!

Serves: 6 

  • 500g school prawn, head removed,shell on
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 tbs chilli powder
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lemon,quartered
  • oil, for deep-frying

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. Heat deep-fryer to 180-190.
  2. In a bowl,mix flour, chilli powder and salt together.
  3. Coat prawns with flour mixture and deep-fry in batches; cook for a minute or two until they are nice and crispy. Remove excess oil by using paper towel.Serve warm, lemon wedges on the side.


Adjust the amount of chilli powder for your liking.
