Quick Nasi Goreng

    This Nasi Goreng is one of the tastiest rice dishes you can make to please the whole family. Serve a little dish of sliced red chilli on the side for the adults.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 eggs
    • 6 shallots
    • 1-2 teaspoons Herbie's Spices Nasi Goreng Spice Mix
    • 250g chicken fillet, sliced thinly
    • 2 rashers bacon, cut into strips
    • 1 tablespoon each soy sauce and tomato sauce
    • 3 cups cold, cooked jasmine rice
    • 1/2 cup cooked peas or snake beans
    • 1 teaspoon fish sauce (or shrimp powder)

    1. Whisk eggs and pour into a heated pan to make a thin omelette. When set, turn out, cool, and cut into thin strips.
    2. Slice the shallots, keeping green pieces to one side. Gently fry whiter pieces until soft.
    3. Add Nasi Goreng mix, then the meat and stir-fry 2 minutes.
    4. Add sauces then cold rice, mixing to break up clumps, vegetables and fish sauce, stir and heat through.
    5. Add omelette strips at the last moment, and garnish with green bits of the onions.
