You can't go past this Italian classic for an easy pasta sauce or a dip.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, picked from the stem, washed and drained
  • 125g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 125g pine nuts
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon Herbie's Spices Sea Salt
  • olive oil

Preparation:15min  ›  Ready in:15min 

  1. Place all the ingredients in the mortar with a little olive oil, and pound with the pestle until everything is nicely mushed together.
  2. Add more oil as required until the mixture achieves the consistency of thick cream.
