Quick Chicken Wontons

    This is an easy way to use up small amounts of leftover chicken - just wrap leftover chicken in wonton wrappers and bake until crispy. You can serve them plain or with soy sauce or sweet chilli sauce.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 pack wonton wrappers
    • 450g shredded, cooked chicken

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Place small amount of shredded chicken lengthwise along each wonton wrapper; roll up and seal by dampening edge of wrapper with a finger dipped in water. When you run out of chicken meat, place rolled wontons in a lightly greased 23x33cm baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until crisp.

    Made it more kid friendly. This is a fun recipe for the kids to make. My kids added some beans, cheese, rice, chicken, bacon, bean sprouts and grated carrots. It is a great way to get them to eat some veggies. Thanks for the idea.  -  08 Oct 2008


    Beautiful idea!! I added pepper, garlic, onion and chilli powder to the chicken while I cooked it then added grated carrot, diced green capsicum, cheese and beanspouts. It was soooo good!! Next time I'm going to try putting this filling in spring roll pastry cause when I baked the won tons they were hard around the edges and rubbery in the middle...maybe I need to lower the oven temp? All in all a fabulous idea, I'm hooked!!  -  08 Oct 2008
