Puffy footy dogs

    40 minutes

Easy for kids to make, feed the starving blokes when they come to watch - you guessed it - football cheaper than buying and tastes better, well I reckon

    Queensland, Australia
    43 people made this

Makes: 9 -12 or how ever many you like

    • puff pastry sheets thawed
    • little boys or cheerios
    • dipping sauce of your choice

    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:40min

    1. Place little boys/cheerios into saucepan of water and boil till cooked, drain and cool so you can easily handle
    2. Put oven on follow directions on back of puff pastry packaging. Place 3 cheerios onto sheet of pastry leaving a gap between each, moisten pastry and roll once till covered, then cut pastry across as if you would have one big long sausage. Cut the pastry where the gaps are between the sausages and you should be left with the puff pastry wrapped around cheerios.
    3. Repeat until the sheet of pastry is all gone. Normally you should be able to get about 9-12 puffy footy dogs from 1 sheet of puff pastry. Place onto oven tray spaced apart pop into pre-heated oven for times check puff pastry packaging, or cook till pastry is golden and puffed. yum

They are just as great cold as hot!

I make these all the time in bulk. Just freeze between layers of plastic. take out and cook when needed. great for after school snacks. taste just as good if not better than the shop bought ones and so much cheaper  -  11 Jun 2011

These sounds great. I'm just wondering if they can be prepared ahead of time and frozen or not? Thanks  -  16 Apr 2011
