Date and Tamarind Chutney

    • 5 pitted whole dates
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
    • 1 tablespoon tamarind concentrate
    • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Combine the dates, water, tamarind concentrate, cayenne pepper and salt in a blender; blend until smooth.

    This was OK not great, but that's probably my fault because I couldn't find tamarind concentrate. The closest thing I could find was Mexican tamarindo juice, so I used a half cup of it and cut the water. It was tasty, just not awesome.
