Delicious biscuits with macadamia nuts and chocolate chips!


Serves: 36 

  • 125g butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup (60g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (30g) white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup (125g) sifted plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon bi carb soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts, diced
  • 1 1/4 cups (200g) dark cooking chocolate chips

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:12min  ›  Ready in:27min 

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Lightly grease 2 large biscuit trays with butter.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large bowl. Mix in the egg and vanilla essence until well blended. Sift together the flour, bi carb soda and salt; gradually blend into the mixture.
  3. Stir in the diced macadamia nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the biscuit trays; about 5 cm apart.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown. Remove from the oven and transfer the biscuits to cake rack.

Altered ingredient amounts. A really yummy recipe. Try using white choc buttons (chopped a bit it you like) instead of the dark choc chips. I think the white chocolate marries really well with the smooth macadamia flavour. - 26 May 2010
