This drink is based on the Mexican 'Sangrita' (little blood) which is frequently used in Mexico as a Tequila chaser. Fresh and organic fruits are nice for the best results.


Serves: 4 

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (250ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1 dash hot sauce (like Tabasco), or to taste
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste

  1. Combine the lime juice and onion slices in a small bowl making sure the onion is completely covered with the juice. Allow to soak 2 to 3 hours; remove the onion and discard.
  2. Stir the orange juice, chilli sauce and salt into the lime juice; chill before serving.
