About your review of my chocolate cake recipe. All ovens are different so if it wasn't cooked after an hour, I suggest you leave it in the oven until it is cooked! I test with a skewer and if it comes out clean, then it's cooked. You may have the cake too high in the oven, so lower the shelf. Must be at 180C.
