Goji Berry Slice

    Here's a recipe I found to be an awesome favourite among my partner and family and friends. It's a Raw Food recipe, can be found in "Raw Food Reawakening" by Raw Food Karen (Karen Bartz, Bachelor Health Science Nutrition, Naturopath). I've added my own little twists, but essentially it is her recipe, and I'm trying to raise a bit of awareness about Raw Food and how it can be used in modern society. *Food Processor Required*

    Makes: 24 Small Pieces

    • 2 Cups Nuts of your choice: Almonds, Walnuts etc
    • 1/4 Cup Cacao Powder
    • 10 Pitted Dates
    • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
    • 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
    • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
    • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
    • 2-3 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil OR
    • 1 Orange's Grated Rind
    • 1/2 Cup Goji Berries (to be added later)
    • 24 or so Macadamia Nuts (Optional) for serving

    Preparation:15min  ›  Extra time:30min chilling  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Process nuts until smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and process.
    2. When all is blended, stir in 1/2 cup Goji Berries. Press into a pie plate.
    3. Refrigerate before cutting. Makes 24 small pieces.


    If the coconut oil is hard in the bottle, run it under warm running water, or place it in a bowl of boiling water.

    Serving suggestion

    Drizzle with melted Cacao Butter if desired. Can be bought in the butter section of your local supermarket.

    Press Macadamia Nuts onto the top of your slice before refrigerating.
