Egg Substitute

    Whilst I wouldn't try this for an omelet, I've used it in many baking recipes and it worked a treat, to replace a missing egg in brownies, to replacing all the eggs in muffins and/or cakes. This recipe also adds an extra serving of fibre in your treats! A hidden benefit.

    Makes: 1 egg substitute for one egg

    • 30ml linseed, ground finely
    • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder (not bicarb soda, the other one)
    • 45ml water

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Mix together, let settle for 3 or 4 minutes, and use as you would an egg in your recipe.


    I am not guaranteeing that this will work 100% for you on all recipes but every now and again it's great to have something to use instead of eggs. If anyone has other egg substitute suggestions please feel free to add them in the tweaks section!
