Peachy's Baked Lamb Chops

    Lamb chops baked in the oven the way my mum use to make them! YUMMY!!

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 pkts French onion soup mix
    • 8-10 lamb chops or steaks (the less fat the better)
    • 1 onion
    • plum jam

    Preparation:2min  ›  Cook:3hours  ›  Ready in:3hours2min 

    1. In a baking dish sprinkle some of the powder soup mix on the bottom.
    2. Then sprinkle over that a little sliced onion.
    3. Lay some of the lamb chops on top of the onion, keep in one layer, then place on top of each lamb chop a teaspoon of plum jam.
    4. Repeat process for as many layers as you need, best usually with 2-3 layers.
    5. Finish off with about 1/2 packet of powder soup mix on the top, and then some onions.
    6. Cover and bake in the oven, the slower and longer the better. I usually cook them at about 150 degrees C for about 3 hours. Meat is so soft is just falls apart.
    7. No need to add any juices as it makes its own!

    Other ideas

    You can always add vegies as well, like carrots and potatoes, but my guys like them steamed on the side served with instead of in with the lamb! Guaranteed to be super soft and SUPER Yummy!!

    I have been trying for the last couple of weeks so many receipes trying to find something that is yummy. Not a little bit yummy but like melt in your mouth yummy. WELL EVERYONE STOP LOOKING. This was so amazingly yummy. Cooked heaps no left overs. How simple. Remember no liquid. So yummy. Serve with mash potatoes and vegs . But serve it with anything. The only difference from receipe is as follows. I never follow a receipe. Salt and pepper and bolognese mixed herbs ( just a sprinkle ). A good covering of plum jam ( just like a piece of toast). Definitely more than a teaspoon. Now please anyone that knows other yummy receipes please send to my email address How simple is this recipe! !     I was hopeful when I read all the positive reviews about this recipe, but I'm afraid to say my attempt turned out terribly The chops were tough and dry - waste of time, of the lamb, which are going to the dogs because the chops are FAR to tough to eat.. I followed the recipe to the letter, even slow cooked at 150 degrees for 3 hours - I won't ever be making this one again.  -  09 Nov 2017
