The Easiest Dessert Ever

    Serves: 12 

    • 12 squares good quality dark chocolate (can be substituted with milk chocolate)
    • 3 sheets ready rolled puff pastry
    • 1 egg
    • splash milk

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Thaw pastry and cut into quarters
    2. Place a square of chocolate in one corner of the pastry and fold (roll) pastry around it.
    3. Curve pastry into a croissant shape.
    4. Mix egg and milk together with a fork to make an egg wash and brush the croissants with egg wash.
    5. Bake for 10 minutes (or to the pastry recommendation on the packet) until brown on top.

    This was ok. I like the simplicity and speed - good for entertaining unexpected guests! I think I'll experiment with fillings in future.  -  03 May 2010
