    Chickpeas can help lower cholesterol and improve blood sugar levels. I spread this on sandwiches, plop it onto a hot steak or simply use as a dip alongside toasted tortilla chips.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 400g can of chickpeas
    • 2-3 cloves crushed garlic
    • zest of 1 lemon
    • juice of 1/2 lemon
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
    • 3-4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

    Directions
    Preparation:15min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Rinse and drain chickpeas.
    2. Puree all ingredients in a food processor to form a thick paste.
    3. Serve with toasted tortilla chips.
    4. *Hint: toast tortillas under the griller and cut them into wedges with a pizza wheel.
