Make sure you use full strength sour cream, butter and cheese spread. Low fat products make the dish soupy. You should slightly melt the butter and cheese in the microwave before mixing. Combines easier. No need to thaw hashbrowns but you may want to break some in half to ensure full coverage in bottom of casserole dish.
