Fruity chocolate slice

    This Fruity Chocolate Slice is my mom's special and favourite of all of us .This healthy, delicious cake is very easy to make and can be made 2 weeks before Christmas and can be stored in refrigerator. surely children will love this fabulous fruity chocolate slice.

    Serves: 6 

    • 250 g Chocolate cream Biscuits, crushed
    • 1/2 cup Desiccated coconut
    • 1/2 cup Roughly chopped walnuts
    • 1/2 cup Chopped dried Apricots
    • 1/4 cup Chopped glaze Pineapple
    • 1/4 cup Chopped glaze Cherries
    • 1/4 cup Sultanas
    • 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder
    • 150g Roughly chopped Dark cooking chocolate
    • 80g Unsalted Butter
    • 2 tablespoons Golden Syrup
    • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
    • For icing
    • 150g Dark chocolate, chopped
    • 60g Unsalted Butter

    1. Brush a 20x30cm rectangular tin with melted butter . Line base and sides of tin with baking paper.
    2. Combine biscuit crumbs, coconut, nuts , fruits, and cocoa in a mixing bowl. Make a well in centre.
    3. Combine chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a heavy based pan. stir over low heat until the chocolate and butter have melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Pour Chocolate mixture over fruit mixture. add egg. Stir until well combined. Press into tin and smooth surface. Refrigerate until firm.
    4. To make icing place Chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl. Stand bowl over pan of simmering water. Stir until Chocolate and butter have melted and mixture is smooth. Cool until thickened slightly. Spread evenly over slice. Refrigerate until set. Remove slice from tin. Using a sharp knife cut into small squares or bars. store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks and have a wonderful treat for Christmas
