Sticking to a budget means looking at cheaper cuts of meat. Goat or Kid works great in a curry and is very reasonable buy a the butcher. (under $5 per Kilo) This recipe will fill your home will aromatic spice. I hope you enjoy.

Serves: 4 

  • 2kg diced goat meat
  • 90g rice bran oil lite spread
  • 3 large brown onions roughly chopped
  • 3 tsp GFresh minced Garlic
  • 2 tsp MoFresha Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 tsp garam marsala
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 500g European Yogurt
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup Dell's lime juice (or 1/3 lemon Juice)
  • 2 tsp Telma Chicken soup mix (or 2 tsp chicken stock)
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation:30min  ›  Cook:1hour30min  ›  Ready in:2hours 

  1. Heat rice bran oil on a large sauce pan
  2. Brown Meat in small batches and set aside
  3. Place Onion, garlic, ginger,cinnamon, cardamom, garam marsala, curry powder and chili powder in a blender. Blend on medium until mixture is a nice puree.
  4. Pour puree into pan that meat has been cooked in.
  5. Cook stirring until mixture becomes very thick and dry.
  6. Add Yogurt, water, Chicken stock, Salt , Pepper, Lime Juice, and tomato paste.
  7. Stir till combined, return meat to pan.
  8. Stir well and bring to boil.
  9. Reduce heat and cook covered on simmer for 1 hour
  10. Remove lid and cook on high simmer for 30 minutes
  11. Serve with Rice
