Bung this super easy on a roll with tomatoes, lettuce and beetroot and tomato or barbecue sauce. Easy!


Serves: 6 

  • 500g mince
  • 1 slice bread, crumbled
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mince, bread, egg, mustard and Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Form into 6 to 8 burgers and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a large frying pan over medium heat, cook the burgers for 10 to 15 minutes, or until done to your preference.

Used different ingredients. added crushed garlic and onion and used Ketjap Manis (Indonesian Sweet Soy Sauce) instead of Worcestershire, only because I didn't have worked well!! I used wholegrain bread too. - 02 Mar 2010


Altered ingredient amounts. i need to eat gluten free. ( what a pain!) so i use a bit of left over , cooked rice or left over potato ( mashed). i also chuck in a diced onion and whatever else needs to be used in the fridge. Good on you Wayne! such a snag! - 19 Jan 2009


Altered ingredient amounts. I always add freshly minced garlic (or even garlic powder). The egg and breadcrumbs are not really necessary if you use top quality lean beef. - 16 Dec 2008
