Cajun Blackened Tuna

    Tuna is great seared and in this case the Cajun seasoning is a wonderful addition to the flavour. Traditionally it is cooked until the seasoning turns black, but this not necessary.

    Serves: 6 

    • 6 fresh tuna steaks
    • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons butter

    1. Generously coat tuna with Cajun seasoning.
    2. Heat oil and butter in a large frying pan over high heat. When oil is nearly smoking, place steaks in pan. Cook on one side for 3 to 4 minutes, or until blackened. Turn steaks, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or to desired doneness.
