Clare's Great Miracle Whip Dressing

    This is a great tasty dressing or can be turned into a sea food sauce by adding a few simply ingredients. Has been in my family for years. Old is good, in cooking. You will love this.

    Serves: 40 

    • 2tsp mustard seeds or mustard powder.
    • 1/4 cup white vinegar.
    • 3 Tbsp cornflour.
    • 1 cup boiling water
    • 4 egg yolks.
    • 2 Tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 Tblsp. white vinegar
    • 3 cups of canola oil (or your pref. oil)
    • 4 Tbsps white or dark balsamic vinegar ( I like dark)

    1. Boil the first lot of ingredients – the mustard seeds, white vinegar, cornflour and boiling water - in a saucepan on the stove, stirring till thick, then take the pot off the stove.
    2. In blender mix together the second lot of ingredients – the egg yolks, sugar, salt and vinegar.
    3. Then slowly add the first lot of ingredients to the second in the blender, as a dribble, while blender is running. Note: the first lot of ingredients don't have to be cooled down for any longer than it takes to process the second lot of ingredients.
    4. When they are all blended together, drizzle in the oil and vinegar, then blend well.
